About the Artist
shylo is a contemporary painter, sometimes photographer, who mostly focuses on colourful and stylized landscapes but likes to experiment with other genres. As a self taught artist, shylo likes to draw inspiration from travels, locally and abroad, trying to capture the feeling each place gives her.
While experimenting with different mediums, shylo started focusing on acrylics more seriously around 2017 but after losing her spouse in 2019 and her dad less than a year later, along with covid lockdowns, she dove head first into developing her style with acrylic, oils and watercolours as a way to grieve and remain productive.
after moving all over bc and a stint of working in camps in alberta and bc, shylo now resides on vancouver island with her cats, bruce and Angus, minutes from the ocean where she feels most at home.
